New Puppy, What Now
Privacy Policy
Last updated: [DATE ON PUBLICATION]
This explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is short because we collect very little.
Who we are. This site is operated by Jamdown Press. For any privacy question, write to support@newpuppywhatnow.com.
If you download the free guide, we collect your email address, and your first name if you choose to give it. The email address is the only part we need. We use it to send you the guide and to email you related material afterwards. The first name is optional, it is only used to address you by name in those emails, and leaving it blank changes nothing else.
If you buy something, Paddle collects what it needs to take the payment. Paddle.com Market Ltd is the Merchant of Record and is the controller of that payment data, including your card details, your billing address and the tax location it needs. We never see or store your card number. What we receive from Paddle is the fact that a purchase happened, the email address it was bought with, and which product it was, so we can deliver the file and honour your access to it.
We record when a product is first accessed. This is transaction specific and exists so we can deliver what you bought, resend it if it goes missing, and apply the refund policy fairly. It is not behavioural tracking and it is not sold to anyone.
Our hosting provider sees ordinary technical data. Pages are served from our own infrastructure, which like every web host processes basic request information such as IP address and browser type. Our email list is held separately by our email service provider.
Who we share it with, and it is a short list. Our email service provider, for sending the free guide and related mail. Paddle, for payment processing and as Merchant of Record. That is the whole list. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
How long we keep it. Your email stays on our list until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is generally seven years, and Paddle keeps its own records under its own policy.
Your choices, and they are real ones.
Unsubscribe at any time. Every email has a one click unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it works immediately.
Ask us what we hold. Write to support@newpuppywhatnow.com and we will tell you.
Ask us to delete it. Same address. We will remove you from the list and delete what we hold, except records we are legally required to keep, such as proof of a sale for tax purposes.
If you are in the EU or the UK, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection under the GDPR, and you may complain to your local supervisory authority. If you are in California, you have rights of access, deletion and correction under the CCPA, and the right not to be discriminated against for using them. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it. Use the same address for any of it.
Cookies. We set the cookies needed for the site to function and to remember an opt-in. Paddle sets what it needs to process a payment securely. We do not run advertising pixels or third party analytics trackers on this site.
Children. This site is not intended for anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes. We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the current version.
